Giacinto Bagetta is a full Professor and Chairman of Preclinical and Translational Pharmacology at the University of Calabria; his interests encompass basic, translational, and clinical aspects of neuropharmacology. He is the author of 291 articles (h-index = 60) in indexed journals, and co-edited nine books published by Elsevier, CRC, and Portland Press. He is a Top Ten Scientist at the University of Calabria AD Scientist Rankings 2024. He is a member of the Editorial Board of high-impact factor journals like Current Opinion in Pharmacology, Frontiers in Pharmacology, International Journal of Molecular Science, and a past member of the editorial board of J Neurochemistry, J of Neuroscience Methods, and J of Chemotherapy. He is the referee for prestigious, internationally recognized scientific journals, and research funding agencies such as The Wellcome Trust (UK), The National Council for Research (CNR, Italy), etc. At the Ministry of Health, he was a Member of the National Health Research Committee from 1996 through 2010 and a Member of the Veterinary Drug Committee from 2016 to 2022. At the Ministry of University and Research, he has been President of the ASN committee for the SSD BIO/14 Pharmacology for the years 2021-2023.
