Cadmium (Cd) drastically inhibits plant growth and metabolism, whereas arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi can enhance plant Cd tolerance through metabolic regulation. To clarify tissue-specific responses, we conducted a pot experiment combined with GC-MS to examine how AM fungi influence root and leaf metabolism of ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) under different Cd levels. Root and leaf metabolomes diverged substantially in composition and function. In total, 83 metabolites were identified in roots, mainly phenolics, amines, and sugars associated with carbon–nitrogen metabolism and stress-defense pathways, whereas 75 metabolites were identified in leaves, largely related to photosynthetic metabolism. Roots were more sensitive to Cd, showing significant metabolic alterations at Cd ≥ 5 mg·kg−1, including disruption of galactose metabolism, while leaves exhibited notable changes only at Cd ≥ 100 mg·kg−1, with suppression of citrate, L-aspartate, and starch and sucrose metabolism. AM fungi modulated plant metabolism more strongly under Cd stress. Specifically, AM fungi restored Cd-suppressed galactose and glyoxylate/dicarboxylate metabolism in roots, enhanced starch and sucrose metabolism and amino acid pathways in leaves, and increased stress-related amino acids and organic acids in both tissues. Overall, AM fungi substantially alleviated Cd-induced metabolic inhibition, particularly at Cd ≥ 50 mg·kg−1, providing mechanistic insight into AM-enhanced Cd tolerance and supporting the application of AM symbiosis in remediation of Cd-contaminated soils.

To investigate the regulatory mechanisms of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on the growth, cadmium (Cd) uptake and translocation of plants with distinct mycorrhizal dependency (MD), a pot experiment was conducted using Paspalum notatum (high MD) and Lolium perenne (low MD) under two Cd gradients (5 mg·kg−1, 50 mg·kg−1) with AMF-inoculated/non-inoculated treatments, with 0 mg·kg−1 set as the control group. AMF significantly enhanced the dry weight and colonization rate of both plant species, and the MD of Paspalum notatum remained consistently higher. The growth-promoting effect of AMF (quantified by MD) exceeded the toxicity induced by Cd stress, thereby mitigating growth inhibition by promoting hyphal growth in the rhizosphere. AMF improved the root bioconcentration factor (BCF) and total Cd extraction capacity of the plants, which was correlated with the plants’ inherent Cd absorption capacity but not with MD. AMF exerted species-specific regulatory effects on the translocation factor (TF): the TF of Paspalum notatum increased after inoculation, while that of Lolium perenne decreased.

Copper polymetallic sulfide ore from the Asgat copper polymetallic deposit in Mongolia has been found to contain a high grade of antimony and silver in addition to copper. In this research, flotation experiments using sodium butyl xanthate (SBX), ammonium dibutyl dithiophosphate (ADD), isopropyl ethyl thionocarbamate (Z-200), and their mixtures were conducted on a sample from the deposit under natural pH conditions. The results of the flotation tests indicate that optimal conditions were achieved with a feeding of 92% −0.074 mm (92% finer than 0.074 mm), sodium silicate dosage of 800 g/t, sodium humate dosage of 300 g/t, sodium sulfite dosage of 300 g/t, and collectors of 60 g/t of ADD and 60 g/t of Z-200. The closed-circuit flotation tests showed that the recovery of copper, antimony, and silver from the ADD/Z-200 combination was 8.13%, 5.41%, and 9.26% higher than that form the single Z-200 while reducing the reagent cost by 12.75%.

Lithium extraction from ores is the main source of lithium salts in China, and the development of green and efficient extraction technologies is an inevitable trend in the country’s lithium industry. Due to the limited availability of domestic lithium ore resources, the efficient utilization of low-grade ores and the development of extraction processes from non-traditional lithium resources will be essential for reducing costs and improving efficiency. This review summarizes the resource characteristics and mineral structures of typical lithium-bearing ores, examines recent advances in extraction processes for representative lithium deposits (spodumene, lepidolite) and discusses strategies for the efficient utilization of low-grade lithium ores (zinnwaldite, petalite, amblygonite, clay-type lithium ore, and jadarite). Finally, the research gap in life cycle assessment of lithium extraction processes from multiple types of lithium ores is addressed by providing a useful reference framework for the development and optimization of lithium extraction technologies from ores.
