Helena Nadais has a master's degree in chemical engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon and a PhD in science applied to the environment from the University of Aveiro. She has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environment and Planning at the University of Aveiro since 2003, working in the field of water and wastewater from the perspective of energy or material recovery. She lectures curricular units related to water and wastewater management and industrial ecology. She also lectures and works on management systems (quality, environment and occupational health and safety) and is a consultant and auditor in this work area. She is currently developing research work on the use of life cycle assessments from the perspective of a circular economy applied to water and wastewater management.
