Dr. Zhongfu Yang is an Associate Professor at Guizhou University. He holds a B.Sc. from Jilin Agricultural University (2015) and a Ph.D. from Sichuan Agricultural University (2024), and was a Visiting Scholar at Massey University, New Zealand (2022–2023). His research focuses on genetic improvement and molecular breeding of forage grasses, especially orchardgrass, including abiotic stress tolerance (drought, heat, cold, salinity), flowering regulation, and the development of high-yield cultivars.
Dr. Yang has authored over 20 peer-reviewed papers in leading journals such as Plant Physiology, The Plant Journal, and Plant Biotechnology Journal. His key contributions include epigenetic control of flowering, mining of flowering-related genes, and identified and functional analysis of stress-resistance gene families. Notably, he participated in the development of three nationally certified forage varieties. He also holds 10 national patents related to functional genes and breeding applications, and has led or participated in multiple research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
