Graduated from the physics Department of Leningrad University in 1963.He defended his PhD thesis on the theory of mobility in polymer solutions. In 1988 defended his doctoral thesis on computer modeling of polymers. From 1990 to 2015, he was head of the laboratory of polymer theory and modeling At the Institute of high-molecular compounds of the Russian Academy of Sciences . Main scientific achievements ; 1. The development of a lattice model of local mobility in polymers, 2.A hypothesis about a single-barrier mechanism of conformational rearrangements in flexible macromolecules, 3.Co-author of pioneering works on polymer modeling by molecular dynamics, 4. Computer simulation of the structure and dynamics of dendrimers, 5. Modeling of the self-organization of amphiphilic polymers in solution. Recent works: theory of the structure of dendrimers with branch asymmetry, elastic properties of polymer and molecular brushes with branched grafted chains
