Prof. Ludovico Spinosa

Ludovico Spinosa Graduated in Mechanical Engineering (1969). CNR (Italy) senior scientist (1969–2010) where he coordinated the Sludge Management Research Projects. Technical manager (1999–2016) at the Govt. Commissariat for Environmental Emergencies in Puglia region. Assistant/contract professor at Italian Universities (Agricultural Hydraulics, Ecology, Waste Engineering) and guest professor at HIT (Harbin, China). National delegate at the European Concerted Action COST on Sludge, and chair (1999–2009) of the IWA Specialist Group on Sludge Management. At present, member of CEN/TC308 with convenorship of WG1 (Process Control Methods), member of ISO/TC275 with convenorship of WG6 (Thickening and Dewatering), and coordinator of WG5 (Soil and Wastes) at Italian UNI. Scientific Consultant at Euro Tecno Service s.r.l. Awarded (2009) the IWA-SGSM Specialist Medal in Residuals Research, and IWA Fellow (2015). Co-editor of the book Sludge into Biosolids (2001), editor of Wastewater Sludge: A Global Overview of the Current Status and Future Prospects (IWA, 2007 and 2011), and author of about 270 publications.
