Biography

Yongming Dai, Ph.D., is a Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering at ShanghaiTech University and a researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Medical Materials and Devices. His research focuses on the development and clinical translation of novel magnetic resonance imaging (MRI technologies), with particular emphasis on free-breathing lung functional MRI and quantitative imaging of the tumor microenvironment. Prof. Dai has made significant contributions to the field of cardiopulmonary and oncologic MRI. He pioneered the development of several advanced MRI techniques, including ultrashort echo time (UTE) MRI for rapid lung parenchyma assessment, oxygen-enhanced T1 mapping for ventilation evaluation, and phase-resolved functional lung MRI for simultaneous ventilation-perfusion imaging within a single breath-hold. In tumor imaging, he developed a couple of advanced diffusion techniques for noninvasive characterization of tissue microstructure and heterogeneity, and advanced abdominal susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) for sensitive detection of iron deposition in liver diseases. His work has been published in high-impact journals including Radiology, Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Medical Physics, and European Radiology. He serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for several leading radiology and MRI journals and holds multiple patents in MRI technology and clinical applications. Prof. Dai's research bridges technical innovation and clinical application, aiming
