I am Assistant Professor, Senior Consultant and Director, Discipline of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore and the National University Centre for Oral Health. I graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, University of Malaya, in 1997 with the following awards:1) University Entrance Scholarship, 2) Book Prizes for Excellence for the First, Second and Final (Part 1) Professional Examinations. I was awarded the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Postgraduate Scholarship to pursue my Master’s degree and specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the National University of Singapore, obtaining a Master's in Dental Surgery (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) in 2003. I obtained my Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from the Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands, in 2011. I joined the National University Hospital in 2012 and the National University of Singapore in 2015. I am a past President, Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Singapore, and on the Singapore Ministry of Health workgroup for Dental Implants and the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery workgroup for implants. I am also on the Singapore Ministry of Manpower, assessor for work-related injuries for hospitals.
