Rogério Galante Negri obtained a degree in Mathematics (2006) from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) and an M.Sc. (2009) and Ph.D. (2013) in Applied Computation from the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research (INPE). He has experience in pattern recognition, radar image processing, geostatistics, and GIS. His recent research focused on the development of classification algorithms (according to different approaches and paradigms of computational learning) and image segmentation with applications to remote-sensing data. Other research areas include the application of data-mining techniques to spatialized data and the development of assessment measures for image classification results. He is currently a Professor in the Environmental Engineering Department of UNESP.
