Luigi Canullo graduated cum laude with a degree in dentistry and dental prostheses from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1994. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Bonn (Germany). He is a national and international speaker on the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant dentistry. He is an active member of the Italian Academy for Osseointegration (IAO) and the European Academy of Osseointegration (EAO). He has been a visiting Professor at the University of Valencia (Spain) and a reviewer for the most important journals in implant dentistry. He was awarded the prize for the best clinical presentation by the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO in 2008), the Martignoni Prize by the Italian Academy for Prosthetic Dentistry (AIOP, in 2012), the prize for the best scientific article by the American Academy of Osseointegration (AO 2013, AO 2019), the prizes for clinical and basic research by Italian Society for Osseointegration (SIO, 2016), and the prize for the best clinical research by the Spanish Society for Surgery and Implants (SECIB, 2017).
