Dr. Gizo Bokuchava studied Solid State Physics (1993) at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, Moscow, Russia. He obtained his Ph.D. in Solid State Physics at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna, Russia, in 2002 on investigation of internal mechanical stresses by neutron diffraction method. During 2002-2004, he was postdoc at the GKSS research centre, Geesthacht, Germany, and at the Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel, Germany, always working on residual stress analysis and mechanical properties of metals and ceramics. He then moved back to the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (FLNP JINR), Dubna, Russia, with senior research scientist position. Since 2012, he has been head of Diffraction section at the FLNP JINR. His research interests are focused on residual stress studies by time-of-flight neutron diffraction, development of correlation RTOF diffractometry method at long-pulse neutron sources and small angle neutron and X-ray scattering.
