Hongguang Lyu received the B.Eng. degree and the Master’s degree in nautical science from the Dalian Maritime University, China, in 2004 and 2007, respectively, and the Ph.D degree in transport information engineering and control from the Dalian Maritime University, China, in 2019. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Dalian Maritime University. His research focuses on intelligent navigation systems for Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) and Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV).His research paper in the area of autonomous collision avoidance and path planning is awarded the Michael Richey Medal in 2020, by the Royal Institute of Navigation (RIN).
