Professor Leandro Oliveira Salviano holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Energy and Fluids) from the University of São Paulo (USP). He also holds a Master’s degree in Energy from the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), where he specialized in thermodynamic modeling and absorption refrigeration systems. His foundational education was a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sao Paulo State University (UNESP).
Since 2016, he has been an Assistant Professor at UNESP under a regime of exclusive dedication. He currently serves as the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering and Vice-Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering (PPGEM). Before his full-time transition to academia, he spent 10 years as a R&D Engineer at automotive industry (2007–2016). He also served as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor at sugar and ethanol production unit. As a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow (Level 2), Dr. Salviano focuses his research on the optimization coupled to numerical tools including Enhancement Heat Transfer, Renewable Energy, and centrifugal compressors for high-pressure applications.
He is coordinator of LABDOE group (Laboratory of Development and Optimization of Energy Conversion Systems). Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for several prestigious international journals, and a consultant for Sao Paulo Research Foundation) and National Council for Scientific and Technological Development.
