Dr. Sérgio Moro

Sérgio holds a Habilitation and a PhD in Information Sciences and Technologies, an MSc in Management Information Systems from ISCTE-IUL, and a 5-year BSc in Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. Sérgio is currently an Associate Professor of Business Intelligence and Data Science at ISCTE-IUL and coordinator of the Information Systems Group at ISTAR. He started his career in 2001 at Montepio Bank, where he remained until May/2016 as an Information Systems Coordinator in the Business Intelligence and Information Management Unit, including projects such as Analytical CRM, ALM, GRC and IRB. Previously, he was responsible for software development for the Bank's Contact Center, working also in projects such as Homebanking and the Corporate Web Site. During his academic path, he has published several articles involving the application of Data Mining and Decision Support Systems to Marketing, Tourism, and Banking, including top ISI-indexed journals such as International Journal of Information Management, Decision Support Systems, Expert Systems with Applications, Computers in Industry, Annals of Tourism Research, and Journal of Business Research. He also acts regularly as a scientific journal peer-reviewer, including more than 120 recent revisions (registered at: https://publons.com/author/522307/sergio-moro#profile).
