Prof. Gómez-Ríos has been with the School of Chemical Engineering at Universidad del Valle (Colombia) since 2021. Associate Researcher and Associate Professor, his academic interests encompass bioprocess engineering, cellular metabolism, bioproducts, bioeconomy, and engineering education. His research focuses on innovative and sustainable biotechnological processes to advance the bioeconomy. He has extensive academic and research experience in bioprocess development, bioproduct safety, and applying bioprocesses to valorize agro-industrial waste for added-value products. He is the Director of the Chemical Engineering program at Universidad del Valle. He holds a Ph.D. (2020), a Master's (2016), and a Bachelor's degree (2010) in Chemical Engineering.
