As shipping continues to play an increasingly important role in world trade, there are consequently a large number of ships at sea at any given time, posing a risk to maritime traffic safety. Therefore, the tracking and monitoring of ships at sea has gradually attracted the attention of scholars. Ship trajectory prediction comprises an important aspect of ship tracking and monitoring. Trajectory prediction describes the forecasting of a ship’s future trajectory over a period of time through use of historical trajectory information of the ship, so as to predict the sailing dynamics of the ship in advance. Accurate trajectory prediction can help maritime regulatory authorities improve supervision efficiency and reduce collisions between ships. Temporal Convolutional Network (TCN) offers good time memory ability and has shown better performance in time series prediction in recent years. Ship trajectory sequence belongs to the category of time series. Thus, in this paper, we introduce TCN into the field of ship trajectory prediction and improve on it, and propose Tiered-TCN (TTCN). The attention mechanism is a way to help neural networks learn data features by highlighting features that have a greater impact on predicted values. Gate Recurrent Unit (GRU) is an important variant of Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), which bears a strong nonlinear fitting ability. In this paper, TTCN, attention mechanism and GRU network are integrated to construct a hybrid model for trajectory prediction, which is referred to as TTCN-Attention-GRU (TTAG). By optimizing the advantages of each module, the prediction effect is achieved with high precision. The experimental results show that the TTAG model is superior to all the baseline models presented in this paper.

Clinical named entity recognition (CNER) identifies entities from unstructured medical records and classifies them into predefined categories. It is of great significance for follow‐up clinical studies. Most of the existing CNER methods fail to give enough thought to Chinese radical‐level characteristics and the specialty of the Chinese field. This paper proposes the Ra‐RC model, which combines radical features and a deep learning structure to fix this problem. A bidirectional encoder representation of transformer (RoBERTa) is utilized to learn medical features thoroughly. Simultaneously, we use the bidirectional long short‐term memory (BiLSTM) network to extract radical‐level information to capture the internal relevance of characteristics and stitch the eigenvectors generated by RoBERTa. In addition, the relationship between labels is considered to obtain the optimal tag sequence by applying conditional random field (CRF). The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed Ra‐RC model achieves F1 score 93.26% and 82.87% on the CCKS2017 and CCKS2019 datasets, respectively.

Fishing vessel monitoring systems (VMSs) play an important role in ensuring the safety of fishing vessel operations. Traditional VMSs use a cloud centralized computing model, and the storage, processing, and visualization of all fishing vessel data are completed in the monitoring center. Due to the limitation of maritime communications, the data generated by fishing vessels cannot be fully utilized, and communication delays lead to inadequate warnings in cases of fishing vessel abnormalities. In this paper, we present a real-time anomaly detection model (RADM) for fishing vessels based on edge computing. The model runs in the edge layer, making full use of the information of moving edge nodes and nearby nodes, and combines a historical trajectory extraction detection model with an online anomaly detection model to detect anomalies. The detection model of historical trajectory extraction mines frequent patterns in historical trajectories through multifeature clustering and identifies trajectories that are different from the frequent patterns as anomalies. Online anomaly detection algorithms detect anomalous behavior in specific scenarios based on the spatiotemporal neighborhood similarity and reduce the impact of anomaly evolution. Experiments show that RADM was more effective than traditional methods in real-time anomaly detection of fishing vessels, which provides a new method for upgrading the technology of traditional VMS.

Vessel Monitoring Systems (VMS) are extensively used in the world to provide information on the vessel's spatiotemporal distribution, monitor the fishing activities of marine fishery and manage the safety of vessel navigation. In the traditional VMS, there are some deficiencies in the interaction and real-time communication between the land system and marine vessel. We present an edge computing-based adaptable trajectory transmission policy (EC-ATT) for VMS to improve the communication efficiency in this paper. Firstly, a novel VMS framework named EC-VMS is proposed which composed of four layers. Each vessel has an edge computing intelligent node to collect data, process and transmit data. Meanwhile, the edge computing server is set up to enhance collaborative computing between the cloud and the edge, that transmits data through the Beidou navigation satellite system. Secondly, the EC-ATT utilizes the computing power of edge nodes to establish an adaptive data transmission mechanism, which reduces redundant data and satellite communication frequency. Besides, the packet loss feedback mechanism and error checking strategy are used to ensure the reliability of data transmission. The experimental results show that EC-ATT has better performance in typical cases, which not only reduces the average communication time but also strengthens the real-time availability of the VMS.

With the boom in 5G technology, mobile spatial crowdsourcing has shown great dynamism in industrial mobile communications and edge computing node management. But the traditional crowdsourcing system is not advanced enough to adapt to the new environment. Typically, traditional crowdsourcing workflow is hosted by a centralized crowdsourcing platform. However, the centralized crowdsourcing platform faces the following problems: (1) single point of failure, (2) user privacy leakage, (3) subjective arbitration, (4) additional service fee, and (5) non-transparent task assignment process. To improve those problems, we replaced the centralized crowdsourcing platform with a decentralized blockchain infrastructure. And we analyzed the challenge problems of multi-skilled spatial crowdsourcing tasks in the blockchain crowdsourcing system. In addition, a crowdsourcing task allocation algorithm has been proposed, which implements a transparent task distribution process and can adapt to the computing-constrained environment on the blockchain. Compared with the TSWCrowd blockchain-based crowdsourcing model, our system has a higher task allocation rate under the same conditions. And the experimental result shows our work has good economic feasibility, which decentralizes the crowdsourcing process and significantly reduces the additional consumption of the crowdsourcing process.
