Mariana Domnica Stanciu is a professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, “Transilvania” University of Brasov, Brașov, Romania, and a doctoral supervisor in the mechanical engineering field. She conducted three national research projects focused on an interdisciplinary approach to stringed musical instruments and had numerous international collaborations. She is a member of the Romanian Society of Acoustics (SRA), the Romanian Society of Rheology (SRR), the Romanian Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (SRMTA), and the General Association of Engineers of Romania (AGIR). Her research interests include the physical, mechanical, and dynamic properties of wood and lignocellulosic materials; the mechanics, dynamics, and acoustics of stringed musical instruments; and the rheology of building materials.
