Prof. Kristine Freude is currently working as a Professor of
Cell Biology and Biochemistry at Copenhagen University. She is also an External
Lecturer at Danish Institute for Study Abroad. From 2013 to 2017, she was a Project
Manager at Veterinary Institute Frederiksberg. From 2018 to 2022, she was the Director
of “BrainStem” Center for Excellence in Neuroscience. In 2023, she served as a Visiting
Professor at University of Poitiers. She is a Scientist with extensive
knowledge and hands-on experience within the fields of Neuroscience and
Diabetes and is specialized in disease modeling using induced pluripotent stem
cells and CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing. Her research interests are focused on
Alzheimer’s disease and Frontotemporal dementia. Her work focuses on cellular
phenotypes in neurons, astrocytes and microglia in mono and co-cultures.
