Dr. Susana Delgado completed her thesis at IPLA-CSIC with a FPI fellowship, obtaining her Ph.D. in 2005. The thesis name was Human Intestinal Microbiota: analysis and evolution of relevant microbial populations and identification of probiotic bacteria, which obtained the Extraordinary Doctorate award. She carried out two postdoctoral stays, one funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science (2005-2007) at Complutense University of Madrid, and the the other one granted by Alonso Martín Escudero Foundation (2007-2008) at Università degli Studi di Verona in Italy. She came back to IPLA-CSIC, initially under the JAE-Doc program and then with a Juan de la Cierva contract. In 2015, Dr. Delgado was granted a young researcher contract (JIN) associated to a project from the Spanish National Plan. In 2017, she was granted a “Ramón y Cajal” contract, and in the same year, she won a tenure track position at CSIC as “Cenientific Full Holder” with affiliation at IPLA (July 2018). She is co-author of five patents, four of which are international, three are currently licensed by companies, and two have a commercially available product (Lactanza Hereditum and GUTalive). She has collaborated as a reviewer for more than 30 SCI journals. Since 2016, she has been a member of the Doctorate Program of Environmental Chemical Engineering and Food Biotechnology at Oviedo University.
