Lucia Saganeiti is a research fellow at the CENTRO PLANECO laboratory of the Department of Civil, Construction-Architecture and Environmental Engineering of the University of L'Aquila (Italy). She works on soil consumption, models and techniques for monitoring urban transformations and settlement dispersion models (including urban sprinkling), indicator engineering. She completed her PhD in Engineering for Innovation and Sustainable Development at the School of Engineering of the University of Basilicata in the Laboratory of Urban and Territorial Systems Engineering (LiSUT). She has carried out research in the field of spatial planning aimed at analysing the settlement system and the evolutionary dynamics of the Basilicata region through the use of GIS tools and automated models for predicting urban expansion.
