Elisabete M. S. Castanheira is an Assistant Professor at Minho University (Department of Physics, School of Sciences). She received a PhD in Photophysics from the Technical University of Lisbon. Her current research interests include the development and applications of magnetic and plasmonic nanoparticles and magneto/plasmonic liposomes; magnetogels and lipogels as drug nanocarriers; new fluorescence probes; nanosystems for drug delivery; liposomal formulations for bioinspired insecticides; and cancer theranostics. She has supervised 8 PhD students and more than 40 MSc theses in the field of Biophysics and Bionanosystems.
