The subject of sustainable tourism has been increasingly discussed in recent years because the complex connection between the environment and the economy has been acknowledged, and there is a pressing need for the integration of these two components, which means the foundation on the premises of a deep and lasting development, which generates a positive impact on society as a whole. According to the specialized literature, the paradigms in the tourism industry are changing. This shows what are the challenges facing the tourism sector today and requires special attention from the authorities and the economic agents involved, who must guide this industry towards a sustainable development in the future.Taking these findings as a starting point, we proposed for our research to highlight, in the first part, the role of tourism on the regional development and secondly the measurement of the impact of tourism, practiced intensively and extensively, on the environmental factors through a series of qualitative and quantitative indicators, highlighted the fact that the damage of the environment over time implicitly leads to the damage of the economic growth. The results of the research allowed us to formulate, in the conclusions part, several directions of action to be followed by regions with a well-developed economy as well as less developed ones, in order to boost tourism activity in the new context of respecting the environmental factor.

Air pollution is a serious problem in many heavily populated and industrialized areas in the world. It affects vegetation, and also human health. The diversification of emission sources, among them vehicles, industrial processes, waste burnings and fuel storage, creates zones with different species and concentrations of air pollutants. In this paper was studied the excessive accumulation of toxic metals such as Al, Cr, Ni, Zn, Pb in vegetation as a risk factor for ecosystem and also for human health. The purpose of the study was to establish an optimal method of determination for toxic elements accumulation in leaves, using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). These results made to suppose that, visible and analyzed responses of in in-situ exposed bio monitors compared with heavy metal accumulation depended on the atmospheric situation during the period of exposure, which could assess the efficiency of biomonitoring programs in the region. The advantage of this study consists in new and appropriate approach using a friendly methodology for air monitoring and favoring the development of a circular and sustainable economy.
The concern for increasing macroeconomic stability is specific to both, small and large countries within the European Community. In that paper are presented ways in which are made links between the states of the world policies and economies development characteristics. That study has imposed a new type of characterization sustained by the national economies manifestation whose is correlated with the interaction between governmental policies and also with national and regional factors. This interaction is conditioned by specify effect of the economic, scientific, demographic, social and cultural development of each country, part of European Union. Taking into account all the imminent obstacles over the years of nations existence, is demonstrated that the European Union is supposed over and over of a new development process, being considered one of the most economically prosperous areas in the world and also one of the most competitive. However, major weaknesses arise due to the existence of significant disparities in prosperity and productivity between Member States and component regions. The complexity of the regional development policy arises at the level of the European Union, from its objective of reducing the economic and social disparities existing between the different region of Europe’s that was and will be an objective that it has implications on important areas for development, such as economic growth, labor force, transport, agriculture, urban development, environmental protection, education. Registered at different levels (local, regional, national and European) - regional policy, deals with the coordination of the different sectors and with the cooperation between the decision levels and the balancing of the financial resources. The conclusion is related with the idea of a must follow regional development economies starting from national level respecting a certain dynamic. That aspect must also take into account the continuous changes determined by the restructuring of the production and the increase of the competitiveness at national and local level.

In the context of the multiple economic crises, the degradation of the quality of life in correlation with the environment are intensely debated topics in the current international policy. Thus, the concept of “Green Economy” was developed as an answer and as a solution to these pressing problems. The development of this concept has taken into account an economic revolution by integrating the environmental factors that will have to be taken into account in any political decision, in a joint international effort. By implementing this concept, the previous term “sustainable economy” will be developed through economic policies that make the economy more efficient, taking full account of climate change, the health and wellbeing of the population in the medium and long term. This study follows an overview of the concept of “Green Economy” and how it could be integrated into the Romanian context.
