Dr. Xiaoying Li obtained her PhD from the School of Metallurgy and Materials at the University of Birmingham in 1999. She is a senior research fellow in surface engineering and the research manager of the Surface Engineering Research Group. She is an expert in developing novel surface engineering technologies and characterizing surface-engineered materials. She has successfully completed a dozen high-quality research projects and is actively involved in the supervision of postgraduate research students, visiting researchers, and junior research fellows. She has in total 176 publications, including 1 patent, about 130 peer-reviewed papers, and 31 peer-reviewed conference papers. She has delivered 32 conference and seminar presentations, including 10 invited speeches and lectures. These papers are frequently cited by materials scientists and surface engineers, with a total citation number of 3860, and an h-index of 33.
