Coronary slow flow phenomenon (CSFP) is characterized by delayed coronary artery filling in the absence of significant obstructive coronary artery disease. It typically presents with angina-like chest pain and is defined by delayed opacification of the coronary arteries despite the absence of obstructive lesions. Although the pathophysiology of CSFP remains poorly understood, microvascular dysfunction, endothelial impairment, and systemic inflammation have been proposed as contributing factors. Hematological parameters, such as eosinophil and basophil counts, along with the eosinophil-to-basophil ratio (EBR) and monocyte-to-basophil ratio (MBR), have emerged as potential indicators of inflammation and cardiovascular pathology. This study aimed to investigate the association between these hematological markers and CSFP to enhance understanding and guide the development of diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. In this retrospective study, eosinophil, basophil, and monocyte counts, as well as derived ratios (EBR and MBR), were analyzed in 233 patients with CSFP and 229 controls who underwent coronary angiography but had normal coronary arteries. Blood samples were processed using an automated hematology analyzer. Group comparisons were performed using the independent samples t-test and Mann–Whitney U test (P < .05). Spearman correlation and logistic regression analyses were conducted to assess associations among variables. There was no statistically significant difference in the median age between the CSFP group (56.0 [IQR: 15.0]) and the control group (57.0 [IQR: 15.0]; P = .905). The CSFP group consisted predominantly of males (161 males, 72 females), whereas the control group had a higher proportion of females (152 females, 77 males), with a statistically significant difference in sex distribution (P < .001). Patients with CSFP exhibited significantly higher monocyte counts (P < .001), eosinophil counts (P = .012), EBR (P = .010), and MBR (P = .008) than controls. This study demonstrated significant differences in hematological parameters between patients with CSFP and controls. These findings suggest that specific hematological indices, particularly immune cell ratios, could serve as accessible, cost-effective biomarkers for CSFP. Further studies are needed to clarify their mechanistic roles and therapeutic relevance.
Objectives: Resin printing is a rapidly growing technology with a diverse range of applications. This study aims to examine the usability of 3D resin printed models in anatomy education. Methods: The study included 84 students who were randomly assigned to either a 3D resin print group (n=42) or a plastic model group (n=42) based on their sex, lateralization, anatomy quiz scores, and Purdue spatial visualization test rotations scores. After attending a lecture, each participant examined an original sacrum and either a 3D printed or a plastic model, depending on their group. The participants were then asked to compare the models to the original using a visual analog scale (VAS) questionnaire, which consisted of four questions about the model’s weight, anatomical accuracy, level of detail, and texture quality. The participants’ ability to identify the models was evaluated using a 3-point Likert scale. Results: The results showed that the 3D printed model had significantly higher ratings than the plastic model in terms of weight, level of detail, and texture quality (p0.05) or the participants’ ability to identify the models (p>0.05). Conclusion: 3D resin printed models are superior to plastic models in some aspects. These results suggest that 3D resin printed model can be used as in the conventional anatomy training approach.

Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the efficiency of Mito-TEMPO, which is a mitochondrial targeted antioxidant, in improving the quality of frozen human sperm. Material-Method: Normospermic 25 human semen samples were frozen and stored in solutions including different concentrations (0, 5, 10 and 50 µM) of Mito-TEMPO. After thawing, they were evaluated in terms of sperm motility, viability, morphology, chromatin integrity and apoptosis. Result: Sperm morphology was not found to change after cryopreservation. Viability was found to be significantly preserved in groups that were added Mito-TEMPO (p<0.01). When the sperms were compared in terms of post-cryopreservation motility, while no significant difference was found between the group that was added 1µM Mito-TEMPO and the group that was not added Mito-TEMPO, the group with the highest number of motile sperms was the group that was added 50µM Mito-TEMPO (p<0.05). In addition, chromatin decondensation and apoptosis rate decreased significantly in groups that were added Mito-TEMPO (p<0.01). Conclusion: Mitochondria targeted antioxidant Mito-TEMPO improves sperm quality that decreases after thawing.
