Margarida Belo Pereira is a researcher at the Aviation Meteorological Division at the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere. She completed her PhD in Atmospheric Physics in 2006 at Paul Sabatier University (France) and in Physics at the University of Évora (Portugal), in cotutelle. She has a Master in Geophysical Sciences, with a specialization in Meteorology/Oceanography from the Science Faculty of Lisbon University.
Currently, her main interests are adverse weather phenomena for aviation, namely, fog, aircraft icing, mountain waves, turbulence and wind-shear, thunderstorms, and tornadoes.
