Masaru Ichihashi is currently a professor at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Graduate School of Innovation and Practice for Smart Society at Hiroshima University, Japan, and is also a director of the IDEC Institute, which is an international research institute of Hiroshima University. Previously, he was a dean of the Graduate School of International Development and Cooperation, at Hiroshima University. He obtained his Master of Economics from Kyoto University and Ph.D. in Science from Kumamoto University. His research interests are Economic Development, Economic Statistical Analysis based on Input–Output techniques, Economic History and Thoughts, and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. As an author and coauthor, he published many academic papers and books. He is also a steering committee member of the Pan-Pacific Input–Output Association in Japan.
