Daniele Cerra (S'07—M’10) received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in computer engineering from Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy, in 2003 and 2005, respectively, and a Ph.D. degree in signal and image processing from Télécom ParisTech University, Paris, France, in 2010. Since 2007, he has been with the Department of Photogrammetry and Image Analysis, German Aerospace Center (DLR), Wessling, Germany. From April to September 2018, he was a Visiting Professor of remote sensing with the University of Osnabrück, Osnabrück, Germany. His research interests include hyperspectral remote sensing, algorithmic information theory, and data compression. Dr. Cerra was ranked first, second, and third in the IEEE GRSS Data Fusion Contests in 2019, 2018, and 2013, respectively.
