Dr. Rong Na graduated from Fudan University Shanghai Medical College and obtained MD/PhD degrees in 2013. He received his residency training and urology specialty training in Shanghai, China. He undertook postdoctoral research training at the University of Chicago, 2015 to 2017, and continued his research at the University of Chicago from 2020 to 2021 as a research scientist. He also obtained an MPH degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health in 2020. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Urology, Department of Surgery at The University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Na has special interests in urological oncology, especially in prostate cancer. His research focuses on genetic epidemiology research, genetic functional studies, and clinical translational research for prostate cancer and other urological diseases. He has over 100 peer-reviewed publications in different journals in the field, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Genetics, Nature Communications, European Urology, etc. He has been an editor and reviewer for different medical journals. He was awarded three National Natural Science Foundation projects, and was one of the key members of a National Key R&D Program funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). He was the youth committee member of the Chinese Urological Association from 2018 to 2021 and is currently the sub-committee member of the Chinese Urological Association (2021-present).
