Sandra holds a Ph.D. in Applications of Informatics from the University of Alicante, Spain and a Master's in Software Engineering from Drexel University, USA. Sandra is a researcher and professor in the Department of Informatics and Computer Sciences of the National Polytechnic School of Ecuador. Her main research interests include software quality, Human-Computer Interaction, Web Accessibility, MOOCs, and Engineering Education. She has been Ecuador's Representative to the Hispanic America Software Testing Qualifications Board. She has previously published in indexed scientific journals such as IEEE Access (SJR Q1), Journal of Educational Computing Research (SJR Q1), Journal of Software: Evolution and Proces (SJR Q2), Journal of Universal Computer Science (SJR Q2), Computer Standards and Interfaces (SJR Q2), Universal Access in the Information Society (SJR Q2), Applied Sciences (SJR Q2), International Journal of Engineering Education (SJR Q2), IEEE Latin America Transactions (SJR Q3), and RISTI-Revista Iberica de Sistemas e Tecnologias de Informacao (SJR Q4). Sandra has 30 years of experience in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels and 28 years of experience in the development and implementation of software solutions in Ecuador, Panama, and the USA.
