Dr. Jérôme Chenal earned a Master's degree in Architecture (1999) and a PhD in Sciences (2008) from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). He is currently the Director of the CEAT Lab and the Director of the Excellence in Africa Center, both at EPFL. His work in urban planning and urban management has resulted in numerous publications, presentations, lectures, courses, and implementation projects. He is an affiliate professor at UM6P (Mohammed VI Polytechnic University) and a member of several scientific committees and boards of directors, including the African Cities Lab. His research interests include mixed methods, urban management, urban systems, urban planning, and Africa.
