Maila D.H. Rahiem, PhD is an Associate Professor at the Department of Early Childhood Education, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Indonesia. Her research interests include child and youth well-being, resilience study, disaster education, narrative research and pedagogy, and culture and value in education. She worked as a humanitarian aid worker in conflict-affected & disaster-affected areas before becoming an academic. Human stories always impress her, this influences her research methods, which predominantly use narratives as data sources. She holds a doctorate in Education from Universiti Putra Malaysia and a master's degree in Education from McGill University, Canada. Maila received a Fulbright Visiting Scholar Award in 2019–2020 for research in the field of social work at the University of South Florida, USA.
