Purpose: This systematic review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) technology in cardiac rehabilitation (CR) patients, focusing on cardiopulmonary function, quality of life, adherence, and satisfaction. Methods: Conducted following PRISMA guidelines and registered on PROSPERO (CRD42025643632), this study systematically searched PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Cochrane Library, Scopus, CNKI, and Wanfang Data. Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4 to assess the impact of VR interventions on cardiopulmonary function, quality of life (QOL), adherence, and satisfaction compared to conventional CR programs. Results: Twenty studies were included. Meta-analysis revealed that VR improved the 6 min walk test distance (MD: 34.9, 95% CI: 24.43, 45.37; p < 0.00001, I2 = 67%) and QOL (SMD: 0.63, 95% CI: 0.09, 1.17; p = 0.002, I2 = 86%). However, evidence regarding adherence and satisfaction was inconclusive. Conclusions: VR technology outperforms traditional CR in enhancing cardiopulmonary function and quality of life. While it might improve patient adherence, further research is necessary to confirm these findings.

Background/Objectives: Dementia is one of the leading causes of disability and dependence among older adults. Early screening may support timely intervention and risk management, contributing to better outcomes at the public health level. However, evidence relating to the factors influencing dementia screening acceptance and knowledge among older adults remains limited. This study aimed to assess dementia knowledge and screening acceptance among older adults, identify their associated factors, and explore the relationship between the two. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 272 older adults in three Chinese communities. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire covering socio-demographic characteristics, dementia knowledge, and screening acceptance. The Dementia Knowledge Questionnaire and the Chinese version of the PRISM-PC scale were applied. Univariate and multivariate linear regression analyses were used. Results: The mean scores for dementia knowledge and screening acceptance were 18.86 ± 5.98 and 62.06 ± 22.18, respectively. Age and education level were negatively associated with screening acceptance. Women had higher knowledge scores than men. Income and social participation were positively associated with dementia knowledge. Knowledge level showed a weak positive correlation with screening acceptance. Conclusions: The study revealed that dementia knowledge and screening acceptance among older adults were moderate; nonetheless, both aspects warrant further improvement. Community-based efforts should prioritize health education, stigma reduction, and targeted interventions to enhance knowledge and promote proactive screening behavior.

Objective: Patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) are susceptible to the negative emotion and its adverse influence on the disease prognosis. It is of great necessity to have a simple measurement to timely assess negative emotions in patients with CAD. The Negative Emotions due to Chronic Illness Screening Test (NECIS) is a newly developed tool to measure negative emotions. However, the construct validity has not been established yet. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to test the construct validity of the NECIS in individuals with CAD in mainland China. Methods: The tool was administered in a convenience sample of 376 patients with CAD hospitalized in three general hospitals in Wuhan City, China. Construct validity was evaluated through factorial validity, convergent validity and discriminant validity. Additionally, the assumed relationship between negative emotions with other associated variables (perceived control and perceived social support) was tested to provide additional evidence of the construct validity of the NECIS. Results: Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis established and confirmed a two-factorial structure of the NECIS. Convergent validity and discriminant validity of the NECIS were proven to be adequate. Two hypotheses regarding the relationship between negative emotions and associated variables (perceived control and perceived social support) were confirmed, which supported the satisfactory construct validity of the NECIS. Conclusion: The NECIS had sound construct validity when applied to patients with CAD in mainland China. This study added new knowledge regarding the construct validity of the NECIS, which supported its psychometric properties for future use.

Objectives: To evaluate the effect of the synchronous teaching model of lab teaching and clinical practice, simulation teaching in the practical teaching of the Health Assessment Course. Methods: A total of 71 senior baccalaureate nursing students were selected for this study at a university via convenience sampling from September 2022 to February 2024.The health assessment practice teaching utilized a synchronous teaching model that incorporated lab teaching, clinical practice, and simulation teaching. Bedside consultation, Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), and self-designed questionnaires were used to evaluate the teaching effect. The health assessment practice teaching utilized a synchronous teaching model that incorporated lab teaching, clinical practice, and simulation teaching. Bedside consultation, Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), and self-designed questionnaires were used to evaluate the teaching effect. Results: The examination score for health history collection was 19.17±0.96, and the score for the OSCE exam was 91.22±5.24. There were 80.28% of the students believed that health history collection by using standardized patients (SP) could be helpful to improve their critical thinking ability, 91.55% of undergraduates thought that the synchronous teaching mode of lab teaching and clinical practice increased the level of challenge, 85.92% of students believed that case discussion is conducive to the comprehensive application of multidisciplinary knowledge and 85.92% of undergraduates reported that the OSCE exam could effectively examine their clinical thinking ability. Conclusion: The synchronous teaching model of lab teaching and clinical practice and simulation teaching increase the difficulty, depth, and challenge of health assessment practice teaching, and realize the deep integration of health assessment knowledge, skills, and clinical thinking.
