Dr. Chen-June Seak is the Head of Department and Associate Professor of Department of Emergency Medicine, New Taipei Municipal Tucheng Hospital (Tucheng CGMH), leading one of the largest emergency departments (EDs) in Taiwan.
Dr. Seak has been appointed the Secretary-General of Taiwan Society of Emergency Medicine (TSEM) since 2016. During his tenure, he has been involving in the development and implementation of Taiwan national policies related to emergency medicine. A board-certified specialist in emergency medicine, geriatric emergency medicine, intensive care, clinical toxicology and hyperbaric medicine, Dr. Seak is passionate about education with keen research interests in emergency department scoring systems, methods of early risk stratification, clinical toxicology and outcomes research. He has been awarded various research grants by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan and Chang Gung Medical Foundation. He has co-authored over 60 papers in various international peer-reviewed, indexed scientific journals, local journals and chapters of textbook to date, and is the associate editor of Journal of Acute Medicine.
In 2018, Dr. Seak established and led the Stratification to Prevent Overcrowding Taskforce (SPOT) for early risk stratification and rapid response at CGMH EDs. This initiative is recognized with multiple awards including thevAcademic Award of TSEM Annual Congress and the Academic Award of SECCM Annual Congress.
