Background and Aim: Hematological parameters are critical indicators of health and physiological status in goats. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of location, feeding regimen, age, and body condition score (BCS) on hematological parameters in Creole goats reared under extensive systems on the southern coast of Peru and to establish context-specific reference values. Materials and Methods: A total of 111 multiparous goats from nine herds were assessed. Red blood cell (RBC) (RBC, hematocrit, hemoglobin [HGB], mean corpuscular volume [MCV], mean corpuscular hemoglobin [MCH], and MCH concentration [MCHC]) and white blood cell (WBC) (WBC, lymphocytes, monocytes [MON], neutrophils [NEU], and eosinophils [EOS]) parameters were determined using a veterinary hematology analyzer. Robust linear regression models with MM-estimation were applied, with model selection based on Akaike information criterion, Bayesian information criterion, and root mean square error. Correlation analyses and hierarchical clustering were also performed to explore inter-parameter relationships. Results: Significant interindividual variation was noted, particularly among leukocyte indices (EOS, MON, NEU; coefficient of variation >50%). In contrast, MCH and MCV exhibited low variability. The geographic location was not statistically significant, suggesting environmental homogeneity across the sites. Dietary composition and BCS significantly influenced several hematological indices. Goats with higher BCS and mixed alfalfa-residue diets exhibited increased HGB and RBC counts, whereas younger goats showed higher MCHC values. Predictive equations were generated to estimate hematological values under specific management conditions. Conclusion: This study highlights the relevance of age, nutritional status, and body condition in modulating hematological values in Creole goats. The derived models and reference values can inform localized diagnostic criteria and enhance decision-making in goat health management under extensive systems. Future studies should incorporate seasonal, sex-based, and longitudinal analyses to refine predictive accuracy. Keywords: body condition score, creole goat, extensive production system, feeding regimen, hematological parameters, Peru, robust regression.

Background: Psidium guajava L. is a species widely used in traditional medicine, mainly due to its diversity of secondary metabolites with reported antioxidant properties and nutritional benefits. However, the marked variability in its phytochemical and mineral composition highlights the need for scientific evidence to rigorously support its nutraceutical potential. Materials and Methods: Fresh leaves of P. guajava were collected, dehydrated, pulverized, and subjected to ethanol maceration. The phytochemical profile was characterized through standardized qualitative assays. Total phenolic and flavonoid contents were quantified using the Folin–Ciocalteu and aluminum chloride methods, respectively. Antioxidant activity was assessed through DPPH and ABTS assays. In addition, micronutrient concentrations (Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, and Cu) were analyzed by atomic absorption spectroscopy. Data were statistically processed using ANOVA followed by Tukey’s test (p < 0.05). Results: The ethanolic extract revealed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, saponins, terpenoids, and alkaloids. The concentration of phenolic compounds reached 96.4 ± 2.3 mg GAE/g, while flavonoids accounted for 41.7 ± 1.6 mg QE/g. Antioxidant capacity showed an IC50 of 34.2 ± 1.1 µg/mL in the DPPH assay and 612.5 ± 15.3 µmol TE/g in ABTS. Regarding mineral composition, calcium (142.7 ± 3.9 mg/100 g), magnesium (88.3 ± 2.6 mg/100 g), and iron (21.4 ± 1.1 mg/100 g) were the most abundant elements. Conclusion: P. guajava. leaves represent a bioactive matrix with high levels of phenolic compounds and flavonoids, coupled with remarkable antioxidant capacity and a relevant contribution of essential micronutrients. These findings support their potential application in nutraceutical, food, and pharmaceutical industries. Nevertheless, further in vivo studies and clinical trials are needed to validate their efficacy, bioavailability, and safety in complex biological systems.

Objective: To evaluate the administration and procedures for the export of seafood products in the Ica area, recognizing the advantages, disadvantages and areas for improvement, based on the comparison between the results of applied research and the most recent commercial and productive statistics.Method: A descriptive and analytical method was used, supported by the review of specialized literature, the study of applied research on seafood exporting companies in Ica, and the inclusion of updated statistical data from PRODUCE, INEI and SUNAT (2024).Results: The results indicate that business management faces challenges in terms of innovation, collaboration, and diversification, which limits its ability to compete internationally. Extractive fishing focuses mainly on the production of fishmeal and fish oil, reaching 74. 8% by 2024, while aquaculture relies almost entirely on scallop farming, which made up 100% of aquaculture production in the region in 2024. Although regional exports increased by 12. 8%, concentration on production and the limited capacity of companies to adapt represent strategic challenges. Conclusion: Improving administration and diversifying exports are essential aspects to increase the competitiveness of the hydrobiological products sector in Ica. It is suggested to promote public policies and business strategies focused on innovation, added value and sustainability, so that the sector contributes effectively to regional development and achieves a stronger insertion in global markets.
