He has a PhD in Natural Products. He is currently a professor at Fluminense Federal University, affiliated with the Institute of Chemistry in the Department of Organic Chemistry. He is also a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Chemistry. He is a Young Scientist in Our State JCNE FAPERJ. He is a full member of the Brazilian Chemical Society and Deputy Director of the Natural Products Division of SBQ. He works with the chemistry of natural products, focusing on techniques for the extraction, separation, isolation, purification, and identification of secondary metabolites present in plants of the Rutaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Annonaceae, and other families found in Brazilian biodiversity.
