Emiel P.C. Van der Vorst is a Group Leader at the Aachen-Maastricht Institute for Cardiorenal Disease, RWTH Aachen University. He earned his Ph.D. from CARIM, Maastricht University in the Netherlands in 2015. Following this, he completed his postdoctoral training at the Institute of Epidemiology and Prophylaxis of Cardiovascular Diseases (IPEK), Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, in 2019. Currently, he is researching novel approaches for the treatment of vascular inflammation and focusing on the interaction between lipids and the immune system in the context of cardiovascular disease and chronic kidney disease.
