Biography

I am Professor of Molecular Oncology and Dean of Biosciences at the University of West London. After studying Natural Sciences at Cambridge and completing my PhD at Birmingham, I built my career across leading UK institutions, including directing the Institute of Cancer Therapeutics in Bradford. My research focuses on transcriptional regulation in cancer, particularly the HOX/PBX pathway, and has led to the development of novel therapeutic strategies and the identification of EN2 as a diagnostic biomarker now in clinical trials. I have published extensively, collaborated widely with industry, and supervised many PhD students. Since 2020, I have led the creation and growth of UWL’s School of Medicine and Biosciences, achieving sector leading student satisfaction and expanding our research and postgraduate community. I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and remain an active contributor to international cancer research.
