Dr Anish Pillai is a staff neonatologist at Surya Hospitals, Mumbai, India. He is also an affiliate Investigator at British Columbia Children’s Hospital Research Institute, Vancouver. Dr Pillai completed his medical school at Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, following which he went on to complete his three-year postgraduate training in pediatrics from Trivandrum, Kerala. He has also completed his neonatology subspecialty training from Kerala and further advanced neonatology fellowships in Vancouver. He has over 8 years’ experience in clinical and academic neonatology. His research interests are neonatal nutrition, neonatal infectious diseases, and extreme prematurity. He is a member of the Society for Pediatric Research, USA as well as the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and National Neonatology Forum, India. He has several publications to his credit and has won many awards such as the Laura McRae award at the University of British Columbia, a research grant by the British Columbia Children’s Hospital Research Institute, Vancouver, and many travel awards.
