Jianglin Fan is a Professor and Chairman of Molecular Pathology at the University of Yamanashi School of Medicine, Yamanashi, Japan. He received his MD degree at Yanbian University School of Medicine, China, and his Ph.D. degree at Saga University, Japan. He received his postdoctoral training at Gladstone Institute, University of California, San Francisco. His research interests include elucidation of the molecular mechanisms of atherosclerosis, lipid and lipoprotein metabolism, and inflammation. One of his major achievements was to develop novel transgenic and knockout rabbit models for the study of cardiovascular disease.
