Yao Cheng, born in 1982, is a professor and doctoral supervisor. He is mainly engaged in hydrophysical law simulation and hydrologic-forecast-related research work. He has presided over more than 30 national, provincial and local scientific research projects. He has published more than 90 academic papers, including more than 30 SCI/EI papers in well-known hydrological journals such as "Journal of Hydrology" and "Advances in Water Science". He has also published four books. More than 10 of his national invention patents were authorized and more than 20 of his software copyrights were registered. He has won three first prizes of provincial and ministerial science and technology progress, one second prize and one third prize each.
