In the mechanical transmission system, the gear is one of the most widely used transmission components. The failure of the gear will cause serious accidents and huge economic loss. Therefore, the remaining life prediction of the gear is of great importance. In order to accurately predict the remaining life of the gear, a new type of long-short-term memory neural network with macro-micro attention is proposed. First, some typical time-domain and frequency-domain characteristics of vibration signals are calculated respectively, such as the maximum value, the absolute mean value, the standard deviation, the kurtosis and so on. Then, the principal component of these characteristics is extracted by the isometric mapping method. The importance of fusional characteristic information is filtered via a proposed macro-micro attention mechanism, so that the input weight of neural network data and recursive data can reach multi-level real-time amplification. With the new long short-term memory neural network, the health characteristics of gear vibration signals can be predicted based on the known fusion features. The experimental results show that this method can predict the remaining life of gears and bearings well, and it has higher prediction accuracy than the conventional prediction methods.
The rolling bearing fault signals are complex time series with complex dynamic characteristics and non-uniform periodicity due to the influence of random interference, such as random impulse noise and equipment vibration. This will affect the accuracy of the diagnostis method. This paper analyses the characteristics of bearing fault signals and discussed the basic ideas of current diagnosis methods. In order to decrease the computational complexity in time series analysis process and reduce the influence of random interference in subsequent feature extraction, this paper proposes a rolling bearing fault diagnosis method base on periodic sparse attention and LSTM (PSAL) for non-uniform bearing vibration signals. According to the periodic characteristics of bearing fault, a periodic sparse attention network is proposed to decrease the time consumption in the process of reducing the influence of random interference and enhancing the feature. Then, LSTM is used to extract long-term dependence features in the fault signals. Finally, two sets of rolling bearing datasets are adopted to verify the validity and superiority of the proposed method by comparing with other methods.

Unsupervised domain adaptation is widely used for fault diagnosis under variable working conditions. However, loss oscillation and slow convergence, which are caused by the dynamically varying alignment of targets during domain adaptation, are ignored. Therefore, in this article, a Gaussian mixture variational-based transformer domain adaptation (GMVTDA) fault diagnosis method is proposed. A feature extractor based on transformer layers is designed to capture long-term dependence information and local features. Subsequently, a domain alignment term is proposed to project the features learned from both working conditions into the common assistance distribution and make them follow the same distribution after the alignment process. In addition, considering that fault diagnosis is a multiclassification process, a Gaussian mixture is utilized to build the common assistance distribution. Ultimately, the proposed GMVTDA is applied to bearing fault diagnosis under variable working conditions, and the experimental results prove its effectiveness.

A simultaneous diagnosis method for power switch open-circuit faults and current sensor faults of grid-connected three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) inverters is proposed herein. First, by designing the adaptive reaching law and reducing the steady-state resonance, a novel interval sliding model observer is developed to track and estimate the three-phase currents accurately and rapidly. Next, a faulty phase detection scheme using an adaptive threshold is proposed to achieve sensitive and robust detection results. Also, the measured three-phase currents sum and estimated three-phase currents sum are used to distinguish power switch open-circuit faults and current sensor faults. Subsequently, a faulty switch location method and the current sensor fault type identification method are proposed, using some of the same identification variables. Finally, combining the faulty phase detection variables with the identification methods ensures the feasibility of the detection and identification of 12 open-circuit faults and 9 current sensor faults. The hardware-in-the-loop test results are performed to validate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.
