Information

I received an MSc in Mechanical Engineering in 2002 and a PhD in Advanced Production Systems in 2007 from the Polytechnic University of Bari. From 2003 to 2010, I was a research fellow and post-doc at the Polytechnic University of Bari, and I was involved in studies about manufacturing for the production of metal foams and welding. I also acted as a consultant for local companies for innovation technologies and as a lecturer assistant and student supervisor. In 2010, I joined the CNR-STIIMA staff as a permanent researcher, where I carried out studies about micro-injection molding and materials/process/product relationships for polymers and composites. I am also a guest editor for the journal Polymers, a reviewer for international journals, and a referee for the Italian Minister of Education and the AITeM association. I have won prizes and scholarships. My interest areas include the following: Micro-manufacturing; micro-injection molding; process parameters; nanocomposites; carbon nanotubes; compounding, recycled polymers; design of experiments; thin micro-cavities; micro ribs; wettability; flow length; roughness influence; replicating capability; dimensional index; aluminum and polymeric foam; morphological characterization; foaming agents.
