Prof. Dr. Guowang Diao served as a teaching assistant at Yangzhou Teacher's College from June 1985 to November 1988, a lecturer at Yangzhou Teacher's College from December 1988 to June 1997. He pursued a doctoral degree in analytical chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, Nanjing University, from September 1993 to December 1996 and obtained a Ph.D. in science in July 1997. He served as an associate professor at Yangzhou University from July 1997 to July 2001, and a professor at Yangzhou University from August 2001 to present. From March 1999 to March 2001, he conducted postdoctoral research at the State University of New York and the Health and Toxicology Institute under the New York State Department of Health in the United States. From June 2008 to August 2008, he worked as a senior visiting scholar at the State University of New York and the Health and Toxicology Institute under the New York State Department of Health. From August 2002 on, Dr. Diao served as the Vice Dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Yangzhou University. In March 2006, he became the Dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Yangzhou University. In July 2013, Dr. Diao became the Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Yangzhou University.
