This research aims to analyze a literature review of publications that have incorporated the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) methods. The AHP and ANP methods have contributed to decision-making in complex situations in recent years and possess widespread applications. Such applications are spread over the years with publications in various major areas such as engineering/technology/applied sciences, social sciences, health sciences, and environmental studies. These two methods provide multiple solutions to researchers in these fields, which is why they are being considered in the current study. For this purpose, data was collected from 920 research papers after a vigorous literature review using different search engines. This paper aims to classify the publications on AHP and ANP methods from the years 2000 to 2019 to identify recognized journals based on their indexes. Furthermore, another objective of this study is to compare total publications by year, publications by field by year, and lastly, observe the distribution by country of the studies. This paper concludes that the highest number of publications are from Turkey, and the highest number of publications used AHP method applications in every category. Most of the publications belonged to the technical fields, followed by social sciences. The study concluded that the AHP method is more widely preferred by researchers in almost every field and application because it tends to produce more accurate results than the ANP.

Purpose: Resilience is a fundamental component of healthcare supply chains, as the quality and endurance of human life are dependent on them. However, there are numerous resilience-building measures, and there is a need for prioritization of those strategies. This research study aims to prioritize resilience strategies for healthcare supply chains while considering the risks that most severe, probable to occur and have the lengthiest periods of recovery.Design/methodology/approach: This research study has used multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques for analysis. Initially, the criteria for prioritization of risks, i.e. severity, probability of occurrence and recovery time were assigned with importance weights through the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (AHP). Then, these weights were used in the fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPIS) analysis for prioritization of risks. Subsequently, the identified risks were used for highlighting the appropriate resilience strategies through the fuzzy quality function deployment (QFD) technique.Findings: Results indicate that Industry 4.0, multiple sourcing, risk awareness, agility and global diversification of suppliers, markets and operations are the most significant resilience strategies.Research limitations/implications: This study's limitation is that it is conducted in a general perspective, rather than reducing the context to a developing or developed country. Different areas have variable market factors, due to which potential risks occur in a different form. Moreover, resilience strategies work differently in different environments. Therefore, for future endeavors, the studies should be carried out in a limited context.Originality/value: This research study proposes a novel MCDM-based approach for ranking resilience strategies, in light of the most probable, severe and long-lasting risks. In addition, this approach has been employed for the enhancement of resilience in healthcare supply chains.
Purpose: China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects are widely spread throughout Pakistan with the potential to have a massive impact on Pakistan’s economic future. CPEC projects have, therefore, made it imperative that green practices are adapted to provide sustainability to the CPEC projects. The adoption of green supply chain management (GSCM) framework will significantly increase the value attained from CPEC projects through the increased benefits to the socio-cultural and economic conditions of Pakistan without causing harm to the environment. The purpose of this paper is to identify and rank the GSCM practices for implementation in the construction industry of Pakistan according to expert opinion.Design/methodology/approach: This study targets the experts who are employed as supply chain managers in the different construction industries of Pakistan. The opinions of these experts have been extracted through an online questionnaire that was based on six alternatives along with four criteria. The tool of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) that is a Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) has been used to analyze the results.Findings: Six alternatives that have been used for this study are green design, green procurement, green production, green warehousing, green transportation and green recycling. The top-ranked alternative as a practice for GSCM is green warehousing followed by green production. The lowest ranked alternative in this study is green recycling. The alternatives have been ranked on the basis of “cc” values derived through TOPSIS.Practical implications: As the advancement in the construction industry will definitely going to impact the environmental sustainability of the country, the results derived through this research will assist the managers of the construction industry of Pakistan to adopt best practices among green supply chain in order to lower their impact.Originality/value: Framework using TOPSIS in order to find the best GSCM practice in Pakistan has not been reported before this study.
