Cornel Samoila is a University Professor, Em. at Transylvania University of Brasov, Romania. He graduated from the Polytechnic Institute of Brasov in 1964 with a specialization in Higher Education. His specialization is Materials Science, and he obtained his PhD in 1979 at the University of Brasov. He has spent 57 years in higher education as a professor. He has served as the Vice-Dean, Dean, and Vice-Rector of Transylvania University of Brasov. He has more than 230 published papers, 96 research contracts, 26 patents, 11 manuals, and 12 books in central printing houses. His main research interests are: materials science, education, and project management. He is a full member of the Romanian Technical Science Academy, and a Member of the IAOE association. He has been given the Nicola Tesla golden chain award IGIP association and the National Order “Cultural Merit” for his research activity, awarded by the Romanian Presidency.
