With the rapid development of wind farm worldwide, monitoring the status of numerous wind turbines becomes the essential work. Abnormal data in wind power curve (WPC) are quite important for wind farm operations and maintenances because they usually reveal wind turbine failures or some extreme conditions. This paper proposes a new algorithm of WPC abnormal data detection and cleaning by image thresholding based on minimization of dissimilarity-and-uncertainty-based energy (MDUE). The basic idea is to transform the scatter data into a digital image and the problem of data cleaning is turned into an image segmentation problem. For all data pixels, the confidences of being classified as normal class are computed and make up a grey level feature image. Then the optimum threshold is determined by searching through the energy space based on intensity-based class uncertainty and shape dissimilarity. Finally, the normal and three types of abnormal data are marked after applying image thresholding to the feature image. The algorithm is compared with several data-based algorithms and a recently published image-based algorithm. A large number of experiments conducted on real-world WPC data collected from 37 wind turbines in two wind farms verified the superior performance of the proposed method.
Accurate stress measurement is essential to evaluating structural integrity and plays a pivotal role in the health monitoring and predicting the service life of steel infrastructures. This study proposes a deep learning approach for stress prediction based on longitudinal critically refracted (LCR) ultrasonic waves. The model integrates gated recurrent units (GRU), attention mechanisms, and one-dimensional convolutional neural networks (1D-CNN), enabling direct stress prediction from raw ultrasonic signals without the need for manual feature extraction or explicit physical modeling. To validate the approach, LCR signals were acquired using a custom-built piezoelectric ultrasonic system from 20# steel specimens subjected to uniaxial stresses ranging from 0 to 200 MPa. A dataset comprising 4200 samples was augmented to enhance training efficiency. The proposed model achieved a mean absolute error of 1.94 MPa. Generalization tests demonstrated high accuracy across diverse stress levels, with average errors below 3 MPa, highlighting the model’s robustness. This research presents an accurate, intelligent, and calibration-free ultrasonic method for stress evaluation, providing practical support for stress evaluation in steel structures under actual operating conditions.

Aiming at a new kind of virtual slice 3D non-destructive measurement method, the quality of each slice can be acquired rapidly and accurately by measuring in X, Y and Z directions, and the mathematic model is established to calculate the ordered point cloud data. Based on the ordered point cloud data of physical slices, the reconstruction of points, lines and areas by means of NX secondary development technology and its reverse engineering technology was carried out by means of outlier extraction, feature boundary point extraction and least squares fitting. Dimensional model reconstruction based on hierarchical feature ordered point cloud in NX. The reconstruction of the model is based on the point cloud data measured by the mechanical parts. The experimental results show that the model can be reconstructed more quickly and accurately than the regular measured entities by the experimental verification and error analysis.
