Cassendra M. Bergstrom is an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado in the School of Psychological Sciences. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado in 2013, then completed a post-doctoral position through the Math and Science Teaching Institution at UNC in conjunction with a National Science Foundation funded project. Dr. Bergstrom’s research interests include exploring classroom practices to enhance the engagement and motivation of students, including students from minoritized populations. This interest led to her involvement with a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute to develop and implement a STEM faculty development series aiming to increase diversity and equity in science fields. Dr. Bergstrom is a member of the American Educational Research Association and the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association.
