Paola Villani senior researcher in the Laboratory of Health and Environment of the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA); graduate in Biology in 1983, at the University of Rome” La Sapienza”, Department of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Physics. After previous experience in environmental toxicology she is involved in experimental research and data processing of activities in radiation biology reproductive toxicology and mutagenesis. In particular, she is interested in the characterization of the effects induced on in vivo and in vitro systems by exposure to ionizing and/or nonionizing radiation, pesticides, nanostructured materials, contaminants of food origin. Her research is addressed to the risk assessment of these agents for human health. She participated to several projects financed by national and international grants
