Prof. Dr. Ruoling Chen received his Master’s degree in Medical Statistics from Sun Yat-Sen University in 1986 and completed his PhD in Medical Sciences at the University of Aberdeen in 1997. Before joining the University of Wolverhampton as a Reader in 2009, he worked at the Universities of Liverpool, Dundee, and London as a lecturer and senior lecturer in medical statistics and epidemiology for 14 years. He is currently a Professor of Public Health and Medical Statistics at the University of Wolverhampton, where he teaches epidemiology, research methodology, and global health to undergraduate and postgraduate students in public health and allied health subjects. As Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Investigator (Co-I), Prof. Chen has secured competitive research grants totaling over £1 million from national and international sources. He currently leads a research group on Population Health, consisting of academic staff and researchers, and supervises five PhD students working on important topics in public health and epidemiology.
