Dr. Dong Wu is a Project Scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). He received his Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences from the University of Michigan, and worked as a principal research scientist and group supervisor at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, prior to joining Goddard in 2011. Dr. Wu has a wide breadth of experience in satellite observing techniques and applications, ranging from planetary boundary layer (PBL) to the ionosphere and lower thermosphere, with significant contributions to NASA missions like UARS/HRDI, MLS, CloudSat, MISR, IceCube and PolSIR. His current research is focused on atmospheric remote sensing with limb and nadir sounding techniques including • Millimeter, submillimeter-wave and IR radiometry and polarimetry for clouds • Multi-platform, multi-sensor stereo imaging for cloud motion and height • GNSS radio occultation and limb sounding for ionospheric electron density and scintillation • L-band radio frequency interference (RFI)
